Holzmanufaktur Auer

Producer of our jewellery boxes

Family business

The Holzmanufaktur Auer, a traditional family business since 1894, combines traditional craftsmanship with modern, sustainable processes. The company places great value on training young people and fostering individual talents to preserve the craftsmanship and social heritage of woodwork.

Already in the 1970s, Holzmanufaktur Auer turned away from fossil fuels and has since met its entire heating demand by utilizing its own wood waste.

Sustainable action

The production focuses on avoiding solvents and using recyclable materials. The use of water-based paints is increasing annually, and only certified raw materials from sustainably managed forests are used.

Since 2021, the company’s own photovoltaic system has been producing over 200 megawatt-hours per year, covering not only its own energy needs but also supplying power to local households. The company continuously works on assessing its ecological footprint and strives to make a positive contribution to the environment.

Values

Responsible wood

The woods used are FSC-certified and come from responsibly managed forests in Austria and Germany.

Natural surface treatment

The wooden surfaces are treated exclusively with natural oils from Tyrol, sourced from natural raw materials.

Energy from in-house production

A significant portion of the energy is produced in the company’s own district heating power plant, which is powered by wood waste.

Packaging & Resource Utilization

The packaging of the products is plastic-free and environmentally friendly, with a strong focus on resource conservation.
